Budva - Kotor - Budva

Square in Kotor - 11th century church middle left

Went and had a look a the UNESCO listed town of Kotor today which is about a 25 minute drive from our place and sits on the shore of Europe's Southermost fjord (some say it's a ria not a fjord).

The town is your typical old town but where it really comes into it's own is when you climb the trail out of the town to the fortress that overlooks the fjord/bay/ria.

The view from the old fortress (now in ruins) is quite spectacular and even though the climb was quite tough it was worth it in the end.

Besides the beautiful panorama available from the top Harry spotted a football field adjacent the old town with some kids playing on it.  Of course he wanted to see if we could go down and play so we wandered down there after taking a few happy snaps.

Well spotted by a boy who can't see his socks when they're on the floor in front of his face but can see 8 kids playing on a futsal field from about 2kms.

Rocked on up and the young fella there invited all 3 of them to play and away they went for about an hour.  They must have done OK as they were invited back to play the next day.

Dinner at home in the apartment taking full advantage of the kitchen facilities to get some badly missed salad and vegetables into us.
